Dr. Margaret Pericak-Vance Receives Lifetime Achievement Award from ASHG
Dr. Pericak-Vance, a principal investigator of the ADSP Follow-up Study (FUS) and FUS 2.0, is a recipient of the ASHG Lifetime Achievement Award this year. Every year, ASHG chooses to recognize key researchers who have made significant impact and contributions in their field of study throughout their career.
Check out Dr. Pericak-Vance’s session at ASHG on Wednesday, November 6 from 4:30 to 5:00 PM MT in the Mile High Ballroom or watch her recorded award presentation to hear her present her work: American Society of Human Genetics: 2024 ASHG Awards
Thursday, November 7, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM MT in Four Season Ballroom 1
The Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP): a paradigm for identifying genetically driven therapeutics for a global complex disease
The ADSP will be highlighted during a Featured Session at the annual American Society of Human Genetics meeting November 5-9 in Denver, CO. The session titled “The Alzheimer’s Disease Sequencing Project (ADSP): a paradigm for identifying genetically driven therapeutics for a global complex disease” will take place on Thursday November 7, from 8:00 to 9:30 AM MT.
The motivation for this session is to showcase the ADSP as a world-wide, large-scale collaborative projects that is needed to accelerate identifying targets for treatment of dementia. This session will briefly highlight the history and emphasize the current and future prospectives of the ADSP and how it can serve as a model for other consortia in identifying new and potential therapeutic developments through international collaboration, inclusion of diversity, functional analysis, and exploration of clinical targets.
