Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) created the National PTSD Brain Bank as part of its commitment to understanding and treating posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The PTSD Brain Bank is a human tissue bank that collects, processes, stores and gives out research specimens for future scientific studies. Donations are accepted from Veterans and non-Veterans who have been diagnosed with PTSD presently or in the past, those without brain disorders, and in certain cases, those with other disorders such as major depression. Samples were obtained through the Boston University ADRC and CTE Center Brain Bank located at the Boston University Avedisian & Chobanian School of Medicine.
